About Me:
Sr. Oracle DBA, Manager, and data specialist with a knack for outside-the-box thinking and problem solving. A wide range of database experience and knowledge, frequently praised as an instructor even when not instructing. A RAC, storage, backup/recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting expert, ready to take on any database project and provide both a firm solution and a great educational experience.

I've been a DBA since I was 16 years old and in High School. Since then I've worked with many different companies in hundreds of projects. I was part of the team at Oracle Corp. that created the Oracle 10g Certified Master exam, and am the world's 2nd Oracle 10g Certified Master. I have also been graced with the Oracle ACE award, a designation showing my enthusiasm for Oracle.

My goals are to expand my horizons and use the skills I have acquired combined with innovation and a little idealism to push the boundaries of data management.

Specialties: RAC, DataGuard, storage, backup and recovery, performance tuning, troubleshooting, data warehousing, data theory. Proficiency with Solaris, Linux, AIX, HPUX, Windows operating systems. Database environments: Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MarkLogic, IBM PureData System for Analytics (Netezza EDW).
