When recompiling entire schemas, for instance, after an import, occasionally you might end up in a situation where compiling some packages would de-compile others.
In this case, If your are not using a state of art tool or if your are doing this work from the golf course(!) and you only have access to sql plus, one way to do it is just compiling the package bodyes. This way it will not cause any de-compilations of the dependent objects.
