New Oracle User Group

I am starting a new Regional User Group in San Antonio, TX

The Oracle Developer and DBA Users Group (ODDBUG) of San Antonio. Any folks down here who are interested let me know.Our focus will be on serving members who belong to the Federal, Federal Health, and Healthcare IT industries. Oracle RAC-Real time setup with no Virtualization..

Hi friends,

Wish to share my experience with you all ..!!

Recently I have taken trainings on Oracle 10g RAC from XDuce. It was a nice experience. The best thing is that XDuce is not using virtualization for RAC Trainings. Retrieving Oracle patches with wget

While working from home this evening, I had to download some patches to a remote Linux system, and was struck, not for the the first time, by the inconvenience of it all. So I wrote a quick shell function that helps me grab patches using wget. And then, I decided to share with the world, or at least the really small portion of the world that visits my blog. ;-)

The strange case of a failing adstrtal.sh script...

I recently ran across an interesting situation while I was working on an E-Business Suite environment: the adstrtal.sh and adstpall.sh scripts weren't doing anything. They weren't showing errors, but neither were they starting or stopping services. This post takes a look at the problem, unearths the cause, and presents a solution that isn't always palatable, but in this case is warranted.
