my sql query gives error

i have a table xyz withe three column

a   varchar2(20)

b   number;

d   date

in d i have data from 1998 to 2011 like last_day of each month 31-mar-1998

sql>select count(*) from  xyz;

error at line 1;

ora-01841:(full) year must be between -4713 and +9999,and not be 0
