Procedure to Unix

Hi All,

I just want to know , if the Pl/SQL procedure is located at one database server , can I call a shell script located at other server.
If so, can anyone please let us know how it can be done.
and also can we pass parameters to the procedure or script can return values.
Anything which can be added will be great.

Thanks in advance.
