Hi.

I guess in the early stages it might be better to limit the number of forums, maybe just DBA, Development and Apps, or something like that.

I think it always looks a little odd when there are loads of forums, each with 1 post. :) It's nice to see a lot og movement in a forum, even if it is not all your chosen subject. Some of the OTN forums don't get a post for days at a time, so you get bored of checking.

i agree forums should be organized by product and then grouped down to dba ,developer etc.

hi, please no "general" forums :)

a forum dedicated to database and application performance tuning would be great I think.

also of course application express.

I propose a splinter community for those wanting general forums. :)

I'm easy either way. :)

It might be worth taking some "inspiration" from the most popular OTN forums...

Eddie, first of all thanks for the site.

I do not think we need new technical forums here or elsewhere. There are lots of technical forums available especially at OTN and OTN membership is free just like here. I do not see the point in using several forums for the same topic.

But we can have nontechnical forums here, that may be interesting.

Thanks for all your replies guys. As a starter, I have just added a new forum category: The Lounge Room. I will add more high level categories soon.

As you may have already noticed , I have also added the following high level categories:

* Database
* Applications
* Fusion Middleware
