Ok, here is our business scenario.
We have two warehouses (DCs) West coast (WCDC) and East Coast (ECDC). ECDC is the preferred warehouse. We have defined the Zip-code range that defines the ECDC, and the remaining United States is WCDC. We are using ATP sourcing rules to determine where the sales order will ship from. ATP includes on-hand + any incoming Purchase orders. ECDC is the preferred DC.
Sourcing rule is like:
If we have ATP in both DCs, it will check Zip code, if it falls with ECDC it will ship the item from ECDC other wise from WCDC. If we do not have enough ATP in either DC, it will ship from wherever it's available. Now since ATP is included on-hand incoming POs, and ECDC is the preferred DC, even though we do not have any on-hand in ECDC, and PO is for the future date, OM scheduled the orders for ECDC, even though WCDC has some available on-hand.
We want order to be scheduled from the DC wherever it can ship earliest, and not scheduled for future POs. Is this possible? Are there any setups that we are missing, or if you can point to any white papers on this subject, I will greatly appreciate.
Thanks,
Toral
